Founder and actual Director of IQE is Niko Hyka. Mr.Hyka is graduated in applied physics from University of Tirana. From 2016, he holds a Doctorate in Medical Physics from University of Medicine, Tirana. Mr. Hyka has a long experience in education system and knows very well the national and international education policies, legislation of education, quality assurance standards in higher education, higher education institutions and management, internal quality assurance system etc. From 2008 he has been part of Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education in Albania, holding the position of Head of Department of statistics, analyses and ranking in HE. In 2011 he coordinated the first ranking process of higher institutions and programs in Albania, performed by Center for Higher Education, Germany. In 2016 - 2018, as part of ASCAL, he has been coordinator of the institutional accreditation process of Albanian higher education institutions, in collaboration with Quality Assurance Agency QAA, UK. From 2018 he is part of University of Medicine, Tirana and collaborates with ASCAL and Accreditation Board as peer review expert for accreditation of institutions and programs in Albania. Mr. Hyka is organizer of several national student and staff surveys in HE, drafted the main policies and regulations for student survey management. He contributed in studies, projects and other activities in education. As part of IQE, Mr. Hyka want to implemented another philosophy in management of education institutions, performance evaluation and internal quality assurance system. He aims to transform IQE as a partner for institutions, student and academic staff by increasing the focus in quality of education, internationalization and performance of education institutions in Albania.
